Joan Kaufman, an instructor in the graduate business program and interior design programs, joined 麻豆官网 as a faculty member in 2017. Joan worked for several commercial design firms and an office furniture dealership prior to founding Interior Planning & Design, Inc., an award-winning design firm located in Naperville, IL. Her firm鈥檚 work has been featured in local and national publications, including the Chicago Tribune, Interiors and Sources, Architectural Lighting, Better Homes & Gardens, Remodeling Ideas, Window Fashions, and West Suburban Living.

Janet brings a diverse background in the commercial interior design industry, with roles spanning interior design, project management, and manufacturer representation. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Maryville University and maintains active professional affiliations with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Interior Design Society (IDS).

Dr. Linda Nussbaumer serves as a distinguished leader on the 麻豆官网 Interior Design Advisory Council and was an Adjunct Professor from 2022 to 2026. Previously, she was a Professor of Interior Design at South Dakota State University (SDSU), where she was honored with the title of Professor Emerita.

A dedicated educator, mentor, and author, Dr. Nussbaumer has written several influential books, including Human Factors in the Built Environment, Inclusive Design: A Universal Need, The Interior Design Intern, and Evidence-Based Design for Interior Designers. Through her teaching, scholarship, and publications, she has helped shape generations of interior designers.

As Program Coordinator at SDSU, she helped lead the Interior Design program to achieve CIDA accreditation and has been an active contributor to the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) through presentations, research, and professional engagement.

Assistant Professor Wendy VanderNoordaa began her teaching career in 2010 as an Instructional Assistant Professor of Interior Design for Illinois State University where she received several competitive grants for her work with Civic Engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Art degree from 麻豆官网 in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Interior and Environmental Design from Illinois State University.
